Good Morning!

SCA would like to welcome our students, faculty, and guests on campus today and remind you to “Be Aware, Be Kind, and Be the face of Good.”

**GENERAL**

Student IDs – Remember to have your ID accessible to be shown when asked. You must have an ID to show when you enter campus.  Those students without IDs will be asked to report to the activities office to acquire an ID.  IDs are for campus safety and ALL students will be  required to have a 2022-23 ID when you are on campus.  Replacement IDs are $10. Please also consider taking a picture of your ID as this will suffice in many cases for proof of identification in case you lose or forget your ID at a school event.

 

School Way Café will serve meals (breakfast and lunch) to all students at no charge. Free, free, free

Students!!!  On Wednesday, October 12th, all students will be participating in College Board Assessments:

9th grade-PSAT 8/9, 10th grade-PSAT/NMSQT, 11th grade-PSAT/NMSQT, 12th grade-SAT

Students we are proceeding with all homecoming events as planned!

Today,  seniors will be able to stop by room 6–105 to purchase a homecoming dance ticket for $20 using cash, check, or card.

Juniors will be able to purchase tickets  beginning Monday the 10th along with any remaining seniors.

All remaining students will be able to purchase tickets on Wednesday, October 12th through the end of the week.

Don’t forget Monday through Friday of next week are all of our special dress up days for homecoming spirit week.

Thursday, October 13th is our homecoming carnival beginning after school at 3:30 on the football practice field and then ending with our evening pep rally in the gym beginning at 6 PM.

Friday’s football game halftime show will crown our senior homecoming royalty and bring home a win against Pine Ridge.

Saturday is our homecoming dance .  This is dance is only for SEABREEZE students, non-SHS students will be allowed for juniors and seniors to invite at our prom event in the spring.

  • Due to Hurricane Ian damage and out of an abundance of planning needs, Seabreeze will not be able to have our Homecoming dance at the News Journal Center venue this year.
  • Dance has been relocated to the SHS Gym from 8 pm- 11 pm, Sat 10/15

**SENIORS**

Don't forget we have Financial Aid Night in conjunction with our FFA free dinner and Live Cake Auction on Tuesday, Oct. 11th, beginning at 5:30 pm. Check the website for more info.

 

 **SPORTS**

All students wishing to try-out for soccer will need to attend a mandatory meeting this Friday in Coach Freidus’ room. Girls will meet at the beginning of lunch and boys will meet the 2nd half of lunch (12:30). Important information about Clearance and Impact Testing will be discussed. Tryouts for girls will take place Monday, October 17th and Tuesday October 18th. Tryouts for boys will take place Tuesday October 18th through Thursday October 20th.

 

Congratulations to the Boys Bowling Teams for their win over University High School (7-0)!  Leading the boy’s team with high scores were, Michael Nichols - with a score of 224, Bryce Gornto - with a score 211, and Brayden Barnes - with a score of 210, , and.  Great job Bowlers!  Congratulations also to the Girls Bowling Team for their win over University High School (7-0)!  Leading the team with high scores were Kara Beissel – with a score of 234, Madison Kuenning – with a score of 200, and Stacey Spaulding - with a score of 184.  Great job ladies!

 

**CLUB/ORGANIZATIONS**

You are all invited along with your family to the 2022 Seabreeze FFA Chapter KICK-OFF Dinner and Live Cake Auction. This event is for all members of the school and the community to come out to support the FFA Chapter here at Seabreeze High School. The night will be filled with a FREE MEAL catered by the FFA Chapter, presentations from the Seabreeze FFA Officer Team, Guest Speakers from the Florida FFA State Officer Team, and finally a very exciting live cake auction where we will auction off 10 homemade cakes from many grandma’s kitchens.

 The officers are excited to kick off their year of service and even more excited to showcase the Seabreeze FFA Chapter to you all. We are asking for everyone that wish to attend to please RSVP to Calungre@volusia.k12.fl.us with the number of guests that will be attending with you by October 8th.

 

Journaling Club with meet today, during lunch in Ms. Bolt's room, room 4-102.
