Good Morning!

 

  **GENERAL**

Student IDs – Remember to have you ID accessible to be shown when asked. You must have an ID to show when you enter campus.  Those students without IDs will be asked to report to the activity’s office located in guidance to acquire an ID.  IDs are for campus safety and ALL students are required to have a 2023-2024 School ID on their person daily while on campus.  Replacement IDs are $5.

 Every student will need to bring a fully charged laptop to school this year.  Forms can be found in the media center and on SHS website.  Forms must be signed by your parent/guardian and with their driver’s license number listed.  You can check a laptop out in media center during lunch. 

 School Way Café will serve meals (breakfast and lunch) to all students at no charge. Free, free, free

Junior and Seniors cast your vote next week Tuesday February 20th -Friday February 23rd in Ms. Price's room (5-105). You will need your school ID and can only vote once. The top 8 junior and seniors will advance to final prom court with the winners announced April 20th at prom. Good luck to all the nominees!

 

Stop by the guidance office to sign up for a scholarship bootcamp. The registration deadline is 2/19/2024.

 

Daytona State College is offering a free Math SAT prep class. Stop by guidance for more information.

 

On Thursday, Feb. 21, Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) is hosting a Black History Month Assembly with Jelani Favors, Ph.D. serving as the keynote speaker. The event begins at 11:15 a.m. at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center, located on campus at 698 W. International Speedway Blvd. in Daytona Beach. The assembly is free and open to the public.

** SENIORS**

Attention Seniors interesting in trying out to Emcee the Mr. & Miss Seabreeze Show.  Stop by Mrs. Oberst office to sign up for an audition and to pick up a packet.  Auditions will take place Monday March 4th and Tuesday March 5th in Ms. Lightsey’s room.

Seniors- please see Ms. Franklin in guidance to make sure your name is spelled correctly on your diploma.

 ** SPORTS**

Spring is right around the corner and your football team is in search of team managers! If you are interested in becoming a manager for the 2024-2025 Seabreeze Sandcrabs Football team, please pick up an application from Coach Davis in room 2-208. Every day is a great day to be a Sandcrab!

 

FREE sports physicals will be given April 10 -13, 2024 at Daytona International Speedway.  Online registration opens early February 2024. Appointments are required.

**CLUB/ORGANIZATIONS**

Photography Club meets today at lunch.

 

SHS Musical Theater presents “Anastasia, The Musical”  with performances tonight at 7 pm, tomorrow at 7 pm and Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 2 pm.

Attention students!  National Honor Society students will be tutoring any subject on Wednesdays during lunch in the media center.  Tutoring for any subject as well as SAT prep. If you need help, come during lunch.

 **SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS **

Registration is open for the 2024 University of Florida Summer Media Institute. We will continue this tradition of welcoming high school students from all over the country and world to UF.  Our program dates are June 23-28, 2024. This immersive learning opportunity where students live in UF residence halls, learn from UF faculty, and work in our facilities will sell out. Please encourage your students to sign up. Please encourage students and/or families to email with any questions.

AI Bootcamp invites students into a three-week online journey through the fascinating world of AI. Students will have the chance to craft their own AI product, mentored by professionals from top companies and universities like Google, Stanford, MIT, and many more. We offer the thrill of discovery with the convenience of home-based learning, making it an ideal summer pursuit.  It is recommended students apply early. First United Methodist Church, Ormond Beach is providing lunch each Tuesday for only $5.00. This is for Juniors and seniors only with off campus lunch privileges.  Their Address is 336 S Halifax Drive.
