In the Culinary Arts program students learn about careers in the food science industry; execute care & use of commercial culinary equipment; perform front-of-the-house & back-of-the-house managerial duties; prepare quality food products & present them creatively; demonstrate safety & sanitary work procedures; understand food science & related to cooking & baking; & utilize nutrition concepts when planning meals/menus.

The focus in these classes is on the growth of the whole student- both in school and as a young adult. Culinary Arts lessons incorporate elements of career and technical education, core curriculum (reading, math, science and social studies), as well as life skills and employable essentials. This attention has been proven to improve students’ grades overall, test scores; as well as prepares them for the workforce.
