2020 OFFICIAL High School Graduation @Daytona Beach Ocean Center

Graduation tickets and parking passes are currently available Monday thru Thursday in the main office at Seabreeze High School from 8am to 4pm.  Due to the ongoing changes with COVID 19 in our state, our graduation tickets will be limited to two (2) per student.   The student, not parent, must come to the school with his/her ID to purchase tickets.  A student may purchase tickets and parking passes using cash or credit card.  Graduation tickets =  cost $3 each  Parking passes = cost $5 each.

DO NOT wear cap and gown for practice. Park and enter on WEST side. BE ON TIME!

Thursday, July 9

Graduation (doors open at 7:30 a.m. to ticket holders)

Graduates should check in at WEST entrance (back) beginning at 7:15 am 

8:30 a.m. Seabreeze ceremony begins

  • If you do not plan on participating please contact Ms. LaGrotta at 258-4674.
  • Boys---White Collared Shirt ? Tie ? A place to store your cell phone - pocket ? Dark Pants ? Dark Shoes – no flip flops ? Nothing added to your cap and gown
  • Girls---Dresses/Skirts that do not fall below your gown ? Cell phones not visible /in garment – (pocket/over shoulder bag no bigger than 5"x 8" not seen under gown). ? Shoes – no flip flops ? Nothing added to your cap and gown ? Purses – please do not bring with you

UPDATED VCS Graduation Health and Safety Protocols

DELAND – Graduation ceremonies for Volusia County Schools Class of 2020 will be held at the Ocean Center July 9-11.  Due to social distancing requirements, and the facility capacity outlined by the Ocean Center, tickets will be limited to two per graduate.  Individuals considered high risk or who are displaying fever-like or flu-like symptoms should remain at home.  Each of the graduations will be live-streamed for those who cannot be in attendance.  

The Ocean Center will increase cleaning of restrooms and public areas, in addition to placing sanitation stations throughout public areas.  Between rehearsals and ceremonies, the arena and exhibit hall will be sanitized, to include seats and the stage.  Restrooms will be monitored to ensure social distancing.

For students and guests, the following health and safety protocols have been established as preventative measures:

 

Graduation Rehearsal Protocols

  • Face coverings (masks) are required due to city ordinance – students, guests and staff members should bring their own masks
  • Six feet sections will be marked in the Exhibit Hall to help students understand what six feet looks like
  • Students will check-in, have their temperature taken by school staff and report directly to their designated line
  • Students will stand on or by the markers and remain six feet from each other
  • To comply with the six-foot spacing, handshaking and hugs should not occur
  • When rehearsals conclude, graduates must leave immediately to avoid crowd gatherings

 

Graduation Ceremony Protocols

 

  • Face coverings (masks) are required due to city ordinance – students, guests and staff members should bring their own masks
  • Students will check-in, have their temperature taken by school staff and report directly to their designated line
  • All participants, including graduates, administrators, guests and family members, must remain at least six feet apart at all times.
  • All upper bowl seating for attendees will be spaced at least 6' apart, with alternate rows blocked off. Seats are available in pairs so that guests can sit together yet socially distance from other guests/households
  • To comply with the six-foot spacing, handshaking and hugs should not occur
  • No physical contact will occur between students and stage occupants
  • Minimal district staff seating sections will exist
  • Each graduating senior will accept a diploma cover after crossing the stage and be officially photographed
  • The names of students who are not in attendance will also be read aloud during the ceremonies
  • When ceremonies conclude, graduates and guests must leave immediately to avoid crowd gatherings

We will also send the link for the live stream the week of the graduation ceremonies to all families, on social media and on our district website. If you miss the live stream, we will also be posting videos of the ceremonies on the district website that can be viewed at any time.

The detailed list of days and times for graduations are here: https://www.vcsedu.org/urgent-information/high-school-graduation-2020 . Admission will be $3 per person. Parking is $5. Tickets are being sold by each of the high schools. Tickets will not be sold at the door on the days of the graduations.

The link for the live-stream will be available in advance. You can watch these live ceremonies by going to our district website at vcsedu.org. We will be sending out the link for the live stream the week of the graduation ceremonies to all families, on social media, and on our district website. If you miss the live stream, we will also be posting videos of the ceremonies on the district website for you to view at any time.

A bag policy for guests attending the graduation ceremonies at the Ocean Center and Edmunds Center:

  • Each ticket holder, including children, may carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse:
    • One clear bag no larger than 12"x6"x12" or a one-gallon clear Ziploc, or similar, bag
    • One small clutch bag or purse no larger than 6.5"x6.5", with or without a strap.
  • Diapers and wipes may be carried in a clear bag; however, diaper bags are not permitted.
  • Additional clothing, blankets, etc. are permitted if carried loosely (preferably over the shoulder to be screened more quickly) or in an approved clear bag.
  • Small cameras, binoculars and cell phones may be carried loosely or in an approved clear bag.

Cap & Gown Info

Seniors, if you have not ordered your cap and gown,  Herff Jones is taking orders once more through June 21st , on their website www.herfforlando.com The package cost is $85.  Late orders will be delivered at the school on June 25th.

Also, if your gown or graduation cap does not fit properlytoo large or too small, contact Ms. Morgan by  phone 386.258.4674 ext. 54651 or email [email protected]  to arrange an exchange.

If you were unable to attend Senior Celebration and pre-ordered a cap/gown package, pick up is scheduled on Friday May 29th anytime between 9 am – 3pm from the activities office.
