Any student trying to earn and record volunteer hours for any event must be certified through the lunch period volunteer class.  Mrs. DebraTully, counselor, conducts a class once a month.  The class is only one lunch period.  Sign up in Guidance to attend the next class.

Below are documents listing Community Centers that give volunteer hours and Volunteer Organizations and Clubs.  The Youth Volunteer Hours Sheet is an individualized hours sheet.  A student will record hours on these sheets and turn them in periodically to Mrs. Deb Tully for record keeping.

In addition to recording hours on an individualized sheet above, there is an informational form the sponsoring organization must fill out.  For each new organization a student volunteers, they should have the organization or business fill out the Youth Volunteer Form.  It is a 3-copy carbon form that must be signed by the organization's contact person.  They can be obtained in Guidance at any time.

Volunteer Events will be posted on this webpage throughout the year and announcements will be made on our daily public address system.  For more information on a specific event use the contact names given with each event listing.  For more information on recording student volunteer hours for Bright Futures, Community service, etc. contact Mrs. Debra Tully at 258.4674 ext. 54641

City of Ormond Beach

Below is information for four programs that are offered through the City of Ormond Beach Leisure Services Department, Special Populations Division.  The programs are:

  • Challenger Basketball **NEW PROGRAM**
  • Challenger Soccer
  • CoMotion Performance Project
  • Teacher Duty Days

Each flyer has information about the dates/times/place that the programs are offered, as well as my contact information, if you decide to volunteer.  Each registered participant in the program has challenges and special needs, and each is highly motivated to do the best they can do!   You, as a volunteer, will gain valuable community service hours and have fun playing sports or taking part in theatrical games during your one-on-one involvement as a “buddy” giving the participants guidance and assistance when needed.  I’ve also attached a flyer with volunteer information and a volunteer application.  This could be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life!

The rules are:

  • Fill out the volunteer application and submit it to Stephanie Revelli
  • Sign up for the activities you are interested in
  • Call if you cannot attend the time you have signed up for
  • Make sure you sign in and out for the times you are there
  • Be dependable and on time
  • Dress appropriately for the activity
  • Have patience And have FUN!

Volusia County Adult Volunteer Information:

“Volunteers (including field trip chaperones) must compete the volunteer application process and be cleared through Professional Standards prior to volunteering.  This process is renewed every five years, although mentors are required to complete an application annually.  If you are a new applicant or applying to a new school, contact the school for an application or download the form and instructions off the district’s website  V.C. Community Information about Adult Volunteers

The school’s volunteer coordinator will contact you if your volunteer clearance requires a five year renewal.  Please allow three weeks to process your volunteer application.”
