A student cannot apply for National Honor Society membership. Membership is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is decided by a Faculty Council and is based on outstanding scholarship (3.6 cumulative GPA weighted), character, leadership, and service. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. Dismissal from NHS for any reason, prohibits a member from ever re-applying.
Note:
Discipline records, attendance reports, and any other pertinent information about a student's scholarship, character, leadership, and honor may be used as criteria for the faculty council when reviewing potential applicants.
