No Prerequisite
This course (the first of
three in the aerospace program) is designed to familiarize students
with a foundation of knowledge and technically-oriented experiences
in the study of aerospace and its effect upon our lives and the
choosing of an occupation. The content and activities include the
study of entrepreneurship, safety, and leadership skills. The
program focuses on transferable skills and stresses understanding
and demonstrating the technological tools, machines, instruments,
materials, processes and systems in business and industry.
Prerequisite (AERO I)
This second course in the
Aerospace Program will focus on the student's exploration of the
skills needed for non-flying careers in aviation. These positions
are an integral part of the aviation and aerospace industry. The
curriculum is designed to provide students with needed skills in the
areas of Airport Management, Customer Service, Air Traffic Control,
as well as the human factors including Safety and Meteorology.
Prerequisite (AERO II)
This course of study
provides classroom instruction, simulator training and flight
training for private pilot evaluation and certification in a single
engine airplane in accordance with FAA standards. In addition to
Pilot/Navigator, instruction requirements for careers in
Engineering such as: Aerospace, Mechanical and Meteorology will also
be explored.
Dual
Enrollment Opportunity
***Aerospace Academy
students have priority for entry into the dual enrollment program
with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. ERAU professors offer
several classes to students on the Seabreeze campus at no cost to
the student. Juniors, seniors, and selected sophomores can get a
start on degrees in aeronautical science, aeronautics, and homeland
security, to name just a few. Certain courses can be used in lieu
of academy classes to acquire the Gold Seal scholarship.
For more information on the
ERAU-sponsored Seabreeze Aerospace Institute, contact Professor
Janet Marnane at (386) 258-4674 ext. 54704.
