  1. Daily uniformed participation is required for physical education credit. Dressing out prevents school uniforms from getting torn or dirty, and promotes good hygiene. A physical education uniform should consist of clothing that is not worn to school, and is kept in your P.E. locker.

The uniform dress code includes the following:

A solid red, white, or gray T-shirt

(A shirt that includes a Seabreeze insignia is also acceptable)

Red, white, or gray athletic shorts

Athletic shoes

The fee to purchase a locker is $4.00. Sharing of lockers/combinations is NOT PERMITTED due to the large amount of personal items that come up misplaced or missing.

  1. Non-Dress/non-participation grading is as follows:

0— 4                      non-dress/non-participation              A             (letter grade stays the same)

5—6                       non-dress/non-participation              B             (drops 1 letter grade)

7 — 9                     non-dress/non-participation              C             (drops 2 letter grades)

10—12                  non-dress/non-participation              D             (drops 3 letter grades)

13 +                        non-dress/non-participation              F              (drops 4 letter grades)

  1. Some classes require written work or tests, along with daily physical activity. Please see each individual course guide for the breakdown of how each grade is calculated.

  2. Situations occur which may cause you to be absent from class. You must ask your instructor for any work you have missed.  To excuse a student from participating due to a brief illness or injury, a parent or guardian must write a note or call the instructor.  The student will still be required to dress out for class.  For an extended illness or injury, a note from a medical doctor must be submitted.  Students will be required to complete a written assignment issued by their instructor.

  1. Food and drinks are not allowed in the gym.  Food and drink items that are purchased in the locker room should not be placed in lockers, and should be disposed of properly.  Items purchased from vending machines should be done so at the end of class.  In order to prevent injury, glass containers are not permitted.

  1. All personal items such as cell phones, CD players, etc. must be locked up in the locker room.  These items will be confiscated according to school rules, if they are visible to any instructor during class time.

  1. Students have 10 minutes at the beginning of class to “dress out”, and 8 minutes at the end of class to “dress in”.

  1. Please remember to notify an instructor if any of the following occur:

·         Student is having trouble with lock/locker

·         Items are missing from your locker

·         You are injured in any way

Seabreeze High School, and the Physical Education Instructors are NOT responsible for any valuables that are left unsecured in the locker room or physical education facility.
